• Romeo + Juliet is a romantic crime tragedy. 
• This movie is directed by Baz Luhrmann. 
• This is more like a chapter from your English textbook of school than a film. 
• Direction is not so good. 
• First 20 minutes of the film were boring and poorly filmed. 
• Movie paces as soon as the eyes of Romeo-Juliet glance at each other. 
• Story of the film is really good. 
• Storytelling is great and movie becomes more and more engaging, though the story is very fast and hustled which is sort of difficult to digest. 
• Actors of the film are Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, John Leguizamo, Paul Rudd, Paul Sorvino and Harold Perrineau. 
• Leo was amazing again. He was such a talented actor even in his early stages of career. (His hairs and looks were catchy). I'd like to mention two of his scenes I really loved. One where he shoots Juliet's brother. You should really looked into his eyes, his tears, the pain, those expression, the anger, that extreme guilt, that was all so so so so brilliant. The second one when he walks down the aisle to Juliet corpse. Those eyes and expressions were ❤️❤️. You will not believe that Leo was just 21 after seeing his excellent performance. 
• Claire looked angelic. She acted great as well. Supporting actors were normal. Some of them were good, like Paul Sorvino. 
• The chemistry between Leo and Claire was really soothing. They looked pretty together in every frame. 
• Some of the scenes in the film were really beautiful, like the encounter through the aquarium, the pool kiss, the famous window climb and the ending. 
• Makers have used Contemporary English, which is hard to understand for me, and definitely for many other viewers. 
• Film was mixed with melodrama of plays, like sudden thunderclouds, quick stories and all, which I didn't like. 
• Film would have been better if it was just a film with the theme of Romeo-Juliet play. 
• Background score was ok. 
• Cinematography was good. 
• Screenplay could have been better. 
• Romeo + Juliet is a melodramatic film with its own pros and cons. Not something I'd suggest if you're not a dedicated cinephile. (you can still watch it for Leo) 

Best Thing - Leo (chemistry between Leo - Claire ❤️❤️)
